Eddy Current Apparatus Lenz

To demonstrate Lenz Law and production of Eddy Current.

The apparatus consists of a Copper Tube, a Plastic Tube, Coil with alligator clips wound on a bobbin with centre hole thru which the copper or plastic tube can pass, a strong magnet, four rubber collars to hold the coil in place when the copper or plastic tube passes thru it and two LEDs.

Connect one of the LED to the alligator clips on the coil. Pass the Copper Tube thru the hole in the hole, held in place with two collars.

On passing the magnet thru the Copper Tube, it will be observed that the LED glows when the magnet passes thru the section where the coil is.

When the Plastic tube is placed instead of the copper tube, the LED does not glow.

Egg Incubator Outer wall is made of M.S. Sheet duly finished in white staving enamel/powder coated paint with mat finished colour combination and inside stainless steel. The gap between inner and outer wall is filled with high grade mineral glass wool. Temperature range from ambient to 70degC is controlled by EGO/ JUMO German capillary type thermostat with an accuracy of +/- 0.5degC. EHT Power Supply Specifications:- Input: 220V-240V, 50/60 Hz Output: 0 to 5KV DC, 2mA or 2.5KV DC, 2 mA Height including handle is 187mm Mains supply: 230V 5% , 50Hz Dimensions: 208 x 155 x 115mm (W x H x D). Fuse: 315mA (L) Secondary outputs with 25M? safety resistors. Auxiliary output of 6.3V AC, 1A for cathode heaters, protected by resettable fuse Independent Earth Terminal for earthing of any one of the five output sockets. Description:- The adjustable 5KV output is fully isolated and the output is monitored by a digital display.  The outputs are also currently limited by 100K resistors to avoid larger transient currents.  The output current is electronically limited to 2mA. In addition to the 0-5KV outputs, there are further outputs linked by 25M? resistors.  This provides EHT outputs appropriate for electrostatic experiments with a short circuit current of 60A. The switching transformer is specially wound so that the output maintains a stable voltage with time, as opposed to most other commercial brands where the voltage will drop with time.  An Independent earth terminal is available for earthing of any one of the five output sockets.
